The Service

PointLadder provides tools for creating and participating in private sports competitions.

Players make sports picks using points assigned within a competition. These points are scoring units used to determine competition results. They are not withdrawable currency and PointLadder does not operate a sportsbook, daily fantasy sports contest, or prediction market.

Leagues

PointLadder leagues may have different settings and rules.

Depending on the league, these may include starting point balances, minimum participation requirements, point limits, deadlines, penalties, prize structures, and other commissioner-configured settings.

By joining a league, you are responsible for reviewing the rules that apply to that competition.

The Rules page displayed inside a league is the primary source for that league's game rules.

Commissioners

Private leagues may be administered by a commissioner.

Commissioners may be given tools to manage league membership, settings, competition information, and other league-specific functions.

Commissioners must use these tools fairly and may not use administrative access to gain an improper competitive advantage.

Contest Lines and Results

PointLadder may publish or establish contest lines used solely for scoring its competitions.

When a PointLadder line is frozen, that line controls scoring even if lines available from outside sources later change.

PointLadder may use third-party sports data to determine schedules, scores, and results. If incorrect or incomplete data affects a competition, PointLadder may correct the affected record or score.

Picks and Deadlines

Players are responsible for submitting their picks before the deadline shown for their competition.

Once a competition period is locked, picks cannot be added, removed, or changed unless an authorized correction is required because of a system error.

Fair Play

You may not attempt to manipulate a competition, exploit a software bug, bypass a deadline, interfere with another user's account or picks, create fraudulent results, or otherwise abuse PointLadder.

PointLadder may correct invalid results and may suspend or remove accounts when reasonably necessary to protect the integrity of the service.

Errors and Corrections

From time to time, sports data, scoring, software, or administrative errors may occur.

PointLadder reserves the right to correct an obvious error so that competition results reflect the intended rules of the game.

Questions about league scoring should be raised promptly with the league commissioner or through PointLadder support.

Availability

We work to keep PointLadder available and accurate, but uninterrupted or error-free operation cannot be guaranteed.

Limitation of Liability

To the fullest extent permitted by applicable law, PointLadder is not responsible for indirect or consequential losses resulting from the use of, or inability to use, the service.

Nothing in these Terms limits rights that cannot legally be limited.

Changes

PointLadder may update these Terms as the service changes. The current version and effective date will be available on this page.

Continued use of PointLadder after updated Terms become effective constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms.
